In the days following the "September Quake" in Christchurch, I found myself trying to capture the "rhythm" of the shaking in a piece of music which became the basis for this video. Following the February quake, my "neighbourhood" has effectively died and is currently in the drawn out process of being dismembered as quake damaged buildings are demolished. I returned to the musical inspiration I'd had following the September quake and decided to create a suite of 3 pieces, scored for 3 pianos, which I've collectively titled 'CBD', to commemorate the experience.
