This was our team's (Robocrop) entry into the V48HOURS competition for 2012. It consists of a 30-second "team intro", a 10-second title plate, and then the short film itself ("Promises"). At 7 PM on Friday, May 18, we were given the following requirements: Genre: Crime; Prop: A Leaf; Character: Nicky Brick, an unlucky person; Line of Dialogue: "I did that" (which I erroneously wrote as "I did it" in the script); Special Feature: Slow Motion. We worked like crazy over the weekend and got the finished product (uploaded exactly as it was submitted) in with 13 minutes to spare. I was over the moon, as the previous year we had bitten off far too much, thus turning it in late. The time I'd done a 48-hour film comp prior to that, it had been late as well. However, during the screening of our short, I came to the dawning conclusion that we got the line of dialogue wrong, as film after film had it correct and I knew ours was different. But what can you do, other than pick yourself up and try again next year.
